Counselling is a talking therapy, allowing you to work through issues that are affecting you and change your life for the better. It is based on a personal, empathetic, non-judgemental relationship with your counsellor. Within this relationship you can explore what is going on in your life, gain insight into your feelings, and better understand your behaviours and thinking patterns.
Choosing to come to therapy
You may be enquiring about therapy because you are feeling overwhelmed, lost, anxious or depressed. All of us at times face difficulties or feel vulnerable, and psychotherapy can be used to explore your anxieties, feelings or distress without feeling judged. Through our relationship and the therapy you can, over time, reach an understanding and acceptance of the issues you bring and find new ways to overcome difficulties and achieve a happier way of life.
Therapy is always tailored to suit every individual and I adhere to the Code of Ethics and Professional Practice laid down by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
